P3- Discuses issues affecting project management

Posted on Updated on

External Factors:

External factors is an issue when doing a project because there could be something that has gone wrong in the process of the project. meaning that if someone told someone about that project the word could get out about which could mean the people decide not to no longer support that project that is in progress and the project will get shut down because it no longer has any supporters or anyone to pay for the people to build the project.

An Example is northern rock they had a small money issue in the bank with not having enough money to pay out to the people who have there money in their bank. so they had to ask for a loan of the bank of England. However bank of England did not keep it quite meaning that everyone who used that bank took their money out of northern rock however northern rock did not have that amount of money that wanted to take out so they ended ding and not being able to give people their money back.

Monitoring progress:

The issue with this is that it is very hard to do when you are doing a project and trying to manage it. with motoring progress you will not be able to watch everything that is happening at once so one of the jobs that is being done may do done poorly and it may of been done by one of your workers or colleague meaning that you cannot fire him also that you would have to take the blame for that job being done poorly because he is you employee or colleague and that you would of had to watch over him while he is doing his job to make sure he is doing it right. but by doing that it could mean that you would not be monitoring the other jobs that is being so they could end up being done poorly.

In addition there are very long deadlines, an example of this is Greg Dyke the new chairman of FA said in 2022 England would win. however with this what he has said may not happen because it was basically just a guess in weather England will win because he does not know for sure weather they will. Also in history there have only been 14 chairman’s for FA and only 3 of them have been in the job long enough to to actually meet that time of being chairman and 9 on the chairman’s have nor even lasted enough time of being the chairman to even get near that amount of being chairman to meet that target date..

Dealing with conflicts:

A conflict on a project is the actual working hours and the time pressure in the time you have to finish the project, also the financial cost of the project and with having to pay for the staff and worker to actually enable your project to go ahead and be built of get in motion. Furthermore having to build up the money in a certain amount of time so that you can still pay of the worker and still have enough to pay for any equipment and products that you will need. consequently meaning that will have to limit yourself on buying the products that is needed to do the product because the cost of the product for the quality of the product could be too expensive so you may have to buy cheaper products to get your project in motion or finished.

Another conflict can be the boundary conflicts. for an example if there are anything that has gone wring or the time for the project ot be finished. For example i you was half way through digging up the foundation to build a office for your company and you find a rare protected animal, then you will have to postpone the build until the issue has been fixed. or if it cant be fixed then  you would have to  stop the project or leave it.
